Parking and Transportation

PNC Arena Parking

During December Graduation and Spring Commencement, there is no charge for parking at PNC Arena.

Please be advised that there may be a heavy flow of traffic the day of graduation into and out of PNC Arena, and you should plan travel time accordingly.

Graduates: Graduating students will enter the arena through the north side, delivery entrance of the arena and are therefore encouraged to park in the North Lots.

Trinity Road is currently closed between Blue Ridge Rd and the PNC Arena (Youth Center Dr./Peter Karmanos Dr.) Attendees for Spring 2018 Commencement at the PNC Arena should follow the “Trinity Road Detour” signs and traffic patterns. Expect delays and added commute time to and from the PNC Arena on the day of Commencement, particularly for students, guests and faculty who will be attending College or Departmental ceremonies on or near campus following the main Commencement ceremony at PNC Arena.

Please plan your travel accordingly. More information about the Trinity Road closure is available on the NC DOT website.

On-Campus Graduation Parking

Commencement is a cherished time of celebration on NC State’s campus. With so many visitors to campus during this time, parking and transportation are of special importance. NC State Transportation Services highly recommends planning ahead for your campus visit.

Parking for Commencement is on a first-come, first-served basis. As traffic volumes may be heavy, please allow additional travel time. Because of a limited amount of on-campus parking, visitors are encouraged to carpool or use public transportation to campus. GoRaleigh and GoTriangle are public transit resources connecting Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas.

Attached are a list of departmental ceremonies and parking areas marked for those ceremonies. Although there is no charge for parking in the suggested areas, reserved spaces (clearly marked) are not open for visitor parking. Accessibility spaces are open in any parking lot or deck to those with the proper state issued placard. Parking staff will be stationed around campus to assist with directions and questions.

For questions and/or assistance in planning your visit, contact NC State Transportation at 919-515-3424.
