New Direct Deposit Security Update
To help protect students from fraudulent direct deposit changes, the University Cashier’s Office now requires multi-factor verification before you can update your banking information. While this adds an extra step, it is designed to prevent unauthorized access and keep your refunds secure.
If your bank account has been closed or you’re unable to find the bank account number, you will need to request a PIN from the University Cashier’s Office. This PIN serves as a one-time verification code to confirm your identity. You can request a PIN by stopping by the University Cashier’s Office or by calling (919) 515-2986 during business hours.
After you update your banking information, the University Cashier’s Office will complete a prenote verification with your bank which typically takes about 10 business days. During this time, any refunds will be issued as a paper check instead of direct deposit.
