Professional Licensure Disclosures

Licensure

Certain academic programs offered by NC State University prepare students to apply for licensure or certification. To meet federal disclosure regulations under 34 CFR 668.43(a)(5)(v), NC State University must provide information to students indicating whether completion of one of these programs meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification in each U.S. state and territory. To find information about a licensure program, select your program from the table below. Licensing authority names with hyperlinked contact information are also provided when applicable.

Professional Licensure Disclosure Information by Program

The information provided in the following table is limited to each program’s assessment of whether the educational program, if successfully completed, would meet a state’s educational requirements for licensure. NC State University believes this information to be accurate, but final eligibility decisions rest with individual licensure authorities. Additionally, NC State University does not assess eligibility to meet licensure or certification requirements unrelated to its educational programming.

Table entries in the “Meets State Educational Requirements?” column refer to disclosures for each state as follows:

  • Yes = the institution has determined that its curriculum meets the State educational requirements for licensure or certification.
  • No = the institution has determined that its curriculum does not meet the State educational requirements for licensure or certification.
  • Not Determined = the institution has not made a determination that its curriculum meets the State educational requirements for licensure or certification.

The date on which each program’s assessment was made is provided. Changes in state laws or regulations may affect eligibility for licensure, and individual program assessments may be updated in the future. Additionally, states differ as to which professions are regulated through licensure requirements. States in which licensure in a program’s field is not applicable are so noted. Students are strongly encouraged to contact their state’s licensing authority to review all licensure and certification requirements. Students relocating to another state while enrolled in a program should assess the program’s eligibility for licensure in their new state.
