Diplomas

All diplomas are 11 inches by 14 inches except for those students graduating from the Agricultural Institute. Their diploma size is 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Frames are available for purchase at the NC State Bookstore.

Duplicate diplomas are available upon request for $40. Contact Registration and Records’ Graduation Coordinator at (919) 515-2572 or fax/mail a completed replacement diploma request form (pdf).

Diploma Distribution

Only Doctoral and Veterinary Medicine students receive their diplomas at the main graduation ceremony. The PhD and DVM diplomas are distributed following the main ceremony just off the adjacent hallway at the PNC Arena.

December graduates: Final clearance for candidates other than Doctoral is late January. All diplomas will be mailed to the address the student listed as their “Diploma or Home/Mailing address” in their MyPack Portal mid-February.

May graduates: Final clearance for candidates other than Doctoral is mid-June. Students who have been cleared for graduation prior to the graduation date will receive their diplomas by the last week in June. Students who are cleared late will receive their diplomas by the second week in July. All diplomas will be mailed to the address the student listed as their “Diploma or Home/Mailing address” in their MyPack Portal.

Summer Session I graduates: Final clearance for candidates is late July, and diplomas will be mailed to the address the student listed as their “Diploma or Home/Mailing address” in their MyPack Portal the beginning of August.

Summer Session II graduates: Final clearance for candidates is the beginning of September, and diplomas will be mailed to the address the student listed as their “Diploma or Home/Mailing address” in their MyPack Portal in the beginning of October.

NOTE: Students with a Financial Hold set by the Cashier’s Office will not receive their diploma until the hold is released. It is the student’s responsibility to alert the Graduation Coordinator of account clearance.
